Accommodation and Travel
From the New Orleans International Airport, one can take the Air Shuttle Service between the Airport and/or most major downtown hotels. Cost of a ticket is $20 each way or $38 for a round trip. Check with Airport Shuttle's website for more specific information. One can also take a cab for approximately $40 each way. Some of the major hotels have their own shuttle service which is included in the cost of the room. If you are staying in a downtown area hotel, be sure to ask them how they recommend getting to the hotel.
Tulane University fronts St. Charles Avenue in Uptown New Orleans. Tulane is about 3 miles from the famous French Quarter. From Tulane, one can take the St. Charles Avenue streetcar to the French Quarter and the CBD, or get on the streetcar at Canal Blvd. or anywhere else along the route to go to Tulane, for $1.25 each way. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to get from downton to Tulane by streetcar. A cab ride from downtown to Tulane will cost about $10.

Late June is not a busy time of year for travel to New Orleans so you should be able to find a rather inexpensive, yet nice hotel. You can try one of the online booking sites such as expedia or kayak, or you might contact some hotels directly. You should be able to find a decent hotel for roughly $100 per night.
